"So, what is Review Filter all about?"
Quickly find, share, create and rate the most useful reviews on the Internet - for just about anything!
The main purpose of this site is two-fold:
- To act as a single central place for finding ALL types of review-only information on almost ALL topics - so you don't have to trawl through search engines and niche websites.
- To be exceptionally fast and easy to use - so you can find and access the right review for you quicker than ever before.
These objectives are supported or delivered by a number of features:
- Effective and intuitive search and filtering tools - user-friendliness is a top priority for this site.
- Broad categories - covering all topics whilst remaining easy to navigate so you can find what you are looking for (advanced tagging is also planned for the future).
- Simple yet advanced submission - the simple fields in the submission forms make it possible for all users to filter results to find exactly what they are looking for.
- Quality control:
- Human input, not computer algorithms - when you search, you'll be getting results contributed by people like you. So you know that you'll be looking at reviews that someone already found relevant and useful. Much better than a list of links compiled by an algorithm which can't categorise at a detailed level, much less vaildate usefulness!
- 'Reviewing the reviews' - by allowing the contributor to include summary information, and by allowing everyone to rate and comment on the reviews, we can eliminate bogus submissions and go straight to those which are most likely to meet our needs.
- Controlled submissions - for now, submissions will undergo a basic check by me to eliminate spam and ensure minimum standards are met. Additionally, you can flag content as inappropriate/out of date/abusive/etc. to bring it to my attention. For the future I have plans to semi-automate this so that the community can largely regulate itself (including a system of 'karma' to encourage best practice and show trustworthiness).
